Sign up by September 7 for discounted rates   Habitat for Humanity Capital District brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Tour de Habitat brings together riders of all experiences and comfort levels to raise money to help local families build safe, affordable homes. Tour de Habitat is back for a bigger and better event this year. The event will have four rides followed by an after-party at Druthers. Friends, families, coworkers or individuals will come together and raise money to win prizes including the 2016 Tour de Habitat jersey. World Habitat DayMonday, October 3More than 30 years ago, the United Nations General Assembly took an important step in promoting the idea that everyone deserves a decent place to live by declaring that the first Monday in October would be World Habitat Day.On Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, Habitat for Humanity joins with our partners around the world to rededicate ourselves to recognizing the basic right of everyone to adequate shelter. Visit Habitat's booth at Ignite 2016! Ignite is an event that helps make it easy as possible to signup to serve and volunteer in Albany. Ignite will feature a thirty minute presentation about the need and opportunity for volunteering in our city. This motivational presentation will feature specially-made videos from local studio Mel eMedia, as well as keynote speech from City of Albany – Mayor Kathy Sheehan, Brian Cody, and Ric Orlando aimed at sparking the desire to get involved in Albany as a volunteer.   After the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to visit booths from Albany non-profits at which they can sign-up to volunteer for great volunteer projects.   While attendees visit the different booths, they will be able to sample food from chef Ric Orlando. This time will also feature prominent Albany musicians and artists helping to create an environment that is both engaging and representative of the strength of our city.   From the event organizers: The Ignite event is just the beginning. Orange Street Dedication

Thursday, December 1 11am to 1pm 222 Orange Street, Albany   Join us to for an open house to celebrate the completion of three new Habitat homes in Albany's Sheridan Hollow neighborhood! Celebrate the hard work and success of our newest Habitat homeowners – three refugee families who migrated from the Karen State of Burma in search of a home and better future for their children. These three homes are part of the second phase of our Sheridan Hollow Redevelopment Project, which builds on our investment of 14 new homes on Sheridan Avenue. Stop by between 11am and 1pm to tour the home, congratulate the new homeowners and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa and holiday treats. Coffee, hot cocoa & cookies will be served.

Habitat partners with people to help them build a place they can call home.
