Construction Site Supervisor

We’re looking for a Construction Site Supervisor to help manage Habitat’s construction projects in the Capital District. The Site Supervisor is the most visible and consistent point of contact for Habitat homebuyers, volunteers, donors and community members. As such, they should be knowledgeable about Habitat for Humanity’s mission and believe strongly in our organization’s guiding principles. The Site Supervisor must be able to work well in a team environment with staff, subcontractors, volunteers and Habitat homebuyers. The primary role of the construction supervisor is to oversee the activities at a construction job site while also performing certain construction tasks themselves. This includes managing construction crews and volunteers, inspecting ongoing work, ensuring adherence to state and local codes, arranging for necessary equipment and ensuring our quality standards are met. The person we’re looking for wants to use their homebuilding and construction skill sets to strengthen neighborhoods and work in partnership with families in need of a decent place to live. AmeriCorps National Service positions

We are currently recruiting for an AmeriCorps National Service Volunteer Services Coordinator with a late summer/early fall 2018 start date. Please note that this is an AmeriCorps service year position, not employment with Habitat.

Volunteer Services Coordinator - AmeriCorps National Service Member

The Volunteer Services Coordinator will be on the front lines of service by helping the volunteers at our affiliate. The member’s primary responsibility will be to coordinate volunteer management efforts, including but not limited to: assisting with on-site orientations, maintaining and updating the volunteer database, maintaining communications with volunteers, recruiting and scheduling volunteers, continually working on volunteer retention and recognition, or other new initiatives at our affiliate. Additionally, the member will assist in the coordination of volunteer groups, such as campus chapters and non-construction youth groups. On occasion, the member may attend community outreach programs to promote volunteer opportunities, and manage affiliate presence at volunteer fairs.
