Volunteer at the ReStore

volunteer at the restore

Volunteering at the Habitat ReStore is a great opportunity to engage in Habitat's mission and learn new skills! Proceeds from the ReStore help build homes right here in the Capital District. By volunteering at the ReStore, you are directly helping raise funds to help local families build strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable homeownership. We have opportunities for individuals and groups.

ReStore volunteers typically assist with activities such as:

  • Managing and merchandising inventory

  • Assisting with donation acceptance and drop-offs

  • Assisting customers with purchases

ReStore volunteer opportunities consist of a variety of 4 and 8 hour shifts with a 4-hour minimum “Stay and Assist” policy in effect. ReStore Volunteers must be at least 16 years old, and we require parental consent for individuals aged 16-17. Check out our answers to frequently asked questions, including questions about community service.

All individual volunteers must first attend an orientation. Orientation dates and registration can be accessed by clicking the button below. If no dates appear, that means we do not currently have volunteer orientation dates. Groups will have orientations on their volunteer day.

Need to change or cancel your shift? You can do that in your volunteer portal here.

Volunteer groups will have a quick orientation on their volunteer day. To schedule a volunteer group, contact our ReStore volunteer coordinator, Camilla, at volunteer.restore@habitatcd.org or (518) 275-6638 x118.
