Before you begin an application, please review the following information.

  • Please thoroughly review the program requirements on our website and in the application.

  • All applicable information in the application must be filled out. All required supporting documents must be submitted by the application deadline. All supporting release forms must be completed.

    Incomplete applications cannot be properly reviewed, and therefore, will be denied.

  • Please submit copies (not originals). Your local library may have scanners available to make copies to print or send digitally.

    Bank statements
    These are not the transaction histories you get at the bank. They are the statements mailed to you every month. They may be available in your online account as a PDF. Include all pages.

    Tax returns and W2s
    If you do not file taxes or receive W2s, please submit a note stating so.

    Income documents
    We need all income documents for all adults in the household. This means annual award letters for social benefits or court orders for child support. For employed applicants, we need the most recent two months (eight weeks) of pay stubs.

  • Within 30 days of submitting your application, you will receive a formal notice of your application outcome.

  • Habitat sells homes with a deed restriction that ensures the home is a owner-occupied residence for 30 years.

    NYS HCR AHOP construction subsidy stipulates that each home will also be sold with a 30-year covenant with NYS HCR.
