Best Real Estate Deals - Community Impact Winner

Habitat’s investment in Albany’s Sheridan Hollow is a finalist in the Community Impact category for the Albany Business Review’s Best Real Estate Deals.

Best Real Estate Deals celebrates developers with the vision to transform a site into something unique, the many professionals who translate that vision into reality, and the dealmakers who bring all the partners together.

Since 2013, we have built or rehabbed 45 homes (50 total units) in the neighborhood & sold them at affordable prices to first-time buyers. We’ll also finish 6 houses on Orange Street this spring & break ground on 11 more across the street soon after, for a total of 62 new homes (67 total units) by the end of 2024. Our total investment in Sheridan Hollow will likely exceed $15 million. Most of these homes are new construction, single-family townhomes, although the project has also included several rehabbed buildings and two-family homes.

Geographic distribution:

  • 17 homes on Sheridan Ave

  • 19 homes on Orange St (soon to be 36)

  • 2 homes on Swan St

  • 6 homes on Lark St

  • 1 home on Clinton Ave

These 62 homes represent at least 18 separate real estate acquisition deals.

We’re looking forward to celebrating the finalists at an awards reception and dinner April 19 at the Albany Capital Center from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
