10 Community Partners Jumpstart 6 New Home Builds in Albany

As we began construction on six more homes in Albany this fall, community partners joined us on-site with hard hats and hammers. These partners included GE HealthCare, NYSTEC, RPI’s Habitat Club, Nassau Financial Group, New York Mortgage Bankers Association, Bank of America, The College of Saint Rose, M&T Bank, and Trane. Each organization hosted its own Team Build day to help support the projects, with the teams making donations towards building safe, affordable homes in the Capital District.

Their hard work and generous financial contributions paid off as they completed the framing for 4 houses. “Most of us never touched a hammer before, but we were able to get a lot of good work done and gain a lot of experience,” Ryan Co-president of RPI’s Habitat club said.

"I have seen these houses pop up and the city come together around it. It is really great to be a part of it, finally. The crew here at Habitat make it really easy," said Jamie, NYSTEC volunteer and Albany community resident of 15 years.

If you're looking for a way to give back and make a difference in your community, consider joining us with your company, church, school, or group.
